October 26th, 2018 marks the grand opening of the prestigious “Art Aquarium in Shanghai” and “Night Aquarium in the Sky” art installation. “Art Aquarium” is visiting China for the first time, where the exhibition will be open to the public until February 17th, 2019 on the 94th floor “Sky Arena” of the Shanghai World Financial Center. Nomura (Beijing) was honored to provide design and construction services for this project. The “Art Aquarium” installation series is the creation of artist Hidetomo Kimura. Since 2007, the exhibition has visited a number of cities in Japan and abroad. Hidetomo Kimura is an expert of aquarium science, and uses the goldfish as his means of artistic expression. The theme of this year's exhibit is the fusion of “the world of sky” and “the world of water”. At 423 meters above the city of Shanghai, guests can enjoy 15 artistic arrangements, totally composed of over 100 fish tanks and over 5000 live gold fish. Aquatic arrangements are complemented by artistic design, lighting, music, and video to complete a total sensory experience. |
